Used throughout the Jewish world to orientate one's prayers toward Jerusalem, also as a visual reminder of the Land of Israel, a mizrach ("east") is a traditional piece of Judiac art with prayers, blessings or a reference to Jerusalem. The Hebrew word "Mizrach" means East, and the artwork is traditionally hung on the eastern wall to indicate the direction of Jerusalem.
